.: I’m really excited and honored to announce that I will be featured in an upcoming TV special called “Get Schooled : You Have The Right”, airing September 8th on BET, MTV, VH1, CMT, COMEDY CENTRAL, Spike TV and Nickelodeon. Today I finished my 2nd day of filming, and have one more to go … more details will follow, but you can read more about the event HERE. Also, as a part of this, I will be going back to school, and finishing my education at Berkleemusic.com! … I have to say, it’s been a fun process … but awkward for me … after all, I chose a career behind the keyboards, not in front of the camera … hopefully I spoke clearly enough that they don’t have to put subtitles under me … stay tuned

Hey, I just saw you on MTV and as a high school math teacher in RI I have to say that “Get Schooled” was an awesome show. Thank you for showing how important school was for you and your success. I was wondering if you could do me a favor pertaining to education. As a math teacher, I am trying to answer the ultimate math question: “when will I ever use this in life?” I heard you mentioning converting music to video and thought that was cool b/c we do a lot of converting in class. If you could take a minute or two and send me and my students an email at daigneaultm@hotmail.com that would be great. Feel free to attach any pictures or anything with it. My students love seeing how math is used in the real world and you would definitely be a cool example. Thank you very much,

Here’s one reason you should be pleased that you participated in “Get Schooled: You Have the Right.” Each six-weeks I show this 30-minute video to a group of 8th grade technology classes. It is so interesting and so well told that I use it as a rationale for their trying their best in school and not giving up when times get tough. It also helps kick off their learning about computers and the required typing skills. . .even if learning it now is not needed when they graduate. . .as they sometimes like to point out to me. . .but is not really true. You, your family, and your friends should be proud that you were part of such an educational project. I couldn’t even tell that you were nervous and your honest comments and story live on in the lives of some Columbus, Ohio learners.
