.: So if you read my previous post on Social Independence Day, I’ll give a quick update. It’s been an incredible couple of weeks! We’ve been able to connect and hang with some really good friends, old and new. I have to admit, I’ve cheated just a bit … had to comment on a facebook post or two … and gave in to the urge to look at my @mentions on twitter. But all in all, my mind is clearer, and some relationships feel a little more meaningful.
Turns out, I think my reaction to FB and Twitter are part of a larger issue for me … Information Obesity. Never heard of it? I found a blog through Lifehacker that kinda parallels my thinkings on technology and the internet. Obviously, there is nothing inherently wrong with any of the social networking tools, and as M. Longnecker pointed out in a response to my original post, can actually be useful in relationships. But just like the food we put into our bodies (hi cory!), the food we put into our minds via the internet can have a profound impact on our though processes. The brain actually rewires itself over time depending on how you process information.
But enough of that … can’t wait for you all to hear all they stuff that’s been cooking up in the studio … killer stuff coming soon!
Check out a couple of these articles, and let me know your thoughts?

I have pictures like this in my living room…of all of us on computers…I am right there with you…the need for human interaction…balancing the social networking. Limiting our time on this blasted thing, our computer. More face time with friends old, new, loved ones, children, family…
We did get rid of our cable…we have net flix and stream some shows and movies…just get out news from the computer. Hasn’t been too rough not watching the tele…increased reading…and face time with my kids!
Wishing you the best during this time!
Hope you and yours are well!

with you on this one. I feel very much enslaved by technology sometimes. Part of this is compounded however by my day job as I am constantly using technology to design and create technology…much of it not particularly beneficial to mankind. I feel like this will be better when I can do what I love instead as that really doesn’t require technology.
However…God has given me a feeling of freedom in my life right now (even though physical circumstances haven’t changed) and because of this I think the smaller issues seem to bother me less.
Not sure if this makes any sense…kind of just rambling here…
